“My hometown of Boalsburg, Pennsylvania is one location that claims to be the birthplace of 'Memorial Day'. Growing up we had a parade and carnival on Memorial Day Weekend. Now hundreds, if not thousands, visit the Pennsylvania Military Museum Twenty-Eighth Division Shrine where they have Civil War re-enactors set up a campsite each year as part of the Memorial Day Weekend celebration. Remember Memorial Day is for those Americans military members who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the service of this great country. Boalsburg was a great place to grow up and it’s a terrific place to visit any time, but especially on Memorial Day Weekend.”
