"Abner Doubleday is credited for creating baseball, but some baseballBaseball historians question that accuracy of that fact.  I think that there is a little inaccuracy in almost every historical fact, but I think that in this day and age there is a desire to try and rewrite all history.  It's just like an incident report in a correctional facility; without a trusted staff member doing a thorough investigation, there are probably untruths or inaccuracies in every report."

Summer  "I remember as a young kid looking forward to the freedom of summer.  Playing "army" along and in the creek that ran behind our neighborhood.  Baseball at our homemade ball field near by.

Most of all was having an adventure swimming in circles in a small above ground swimming pool in the backyard imagining I was a scuba diver.   Summer was always exciting."

“I didn’t belong to a boys club but we kind of created our own.  Growing up my three older brothers and I put together our own baseball and football teams with kids in the local neighborhood.  We mowed and setup our own playing fields in an empty lot adjacent to the neighborhood.  We would play kids from other neighborhoods in the small town we lived in.  We acted as our own coaches and officials.   It was a great experience and I don’t know if kids today who have a more formal system have it better.”
