It's that time again to take a quick look at five corrections related news items and of course one weird news story! (Actually, this week we have 11 great moments in police blotter history!)

Corrections.comhas an excellent article about using the Internet to control Security Threat Groups (STG). Read how the Ohio DOC tracks the STGs through social media and other Internet mediums.

Caterina Spinaris Tudor’s writes a few hints for corrections supervisors in bullet points. In some respects, these points can be made to even non-corrections supervisory roles.

Read about five prison charities that are helping inmates give back to the community and victims. Featured organizations include ‘The Long Termers Organization’, ‘NEADS’, and ‘Art Behind Bars’.

40,000 drug cases in Californiacould face a detailed review due to a scandal involving a crime lab tech who stole cocaine from the evidence room.

Looks another time honored facet of corrections is losing the battle to technology. Cameras are replacing humans in towers in Camp Hill, PA.

And, in the weird news story of the week, we actually take a look at 11 great moments in police blotter history. I can only imagine what our world would look like if we didn’t have level headed law enforcement and corrections professionals in the world.
